The Center for Financial Success (CFS) at Western Kentucky University is now accepting registrations for its 2024 Personal Finance Summer Camp. The camp is designed for rising 10th-grade through 12th-grade students and offers a unique opportunity to learn about personal finance and experience campus life. The camp is sponsored by Abound Credit Union, which has pledged a 3-year sponsorship totaling $75,000 to support the camp and provide scholarships for attendees.

The Personal Finance Summer Camp will take place from June 9th to June 13th on the WKU campus. Campers will engage in a variety of activities, including personal finance workshops, leadership training, guest speaker sessions, and a financial plan case study competition. The case study competition requires teams to construct a financial plan for a mock client and present it on the final day of the camp. Campers will also have the opportunity to visit local financial firms, where advisors will serve as valuable resources for the case study competition.

The camp is staffed by WKU finance students who act as counselors, providing guidance and support to the campers. Andrew Head, the Director of the Center for Financial Success, expressed excitement about the camp, stating, “Not only does our team get to educate campers about lessons and habits that they will use their entire lives, but it is also genuinely fun for everyone involved.”

To register for the Personal Finance Summer Camp or learn more, interested individuals can visit the WKU website. The Early Bird Deadline to register is April 15th.
