Target Corp. has named its CFO, Michael Fiddelke, as the new COO, effective February 4, 2024. Fiddelke, who has been with the company for 20 years, will oversee Target’s stores, supply chain network, fulfillment services, and other operational aspects of the business. He will continue to serve as CFO until a replacement is found. In addition to this appointment, Target is also updating its merchandising leadership. Rick Gomez, currently the chief food & beverage officer, will now oversee the retailer’s frequency categories as the chief food, essentials & beauty officer. Jill Sando, the current chief merchandising officer, will take on the role of chief merchandising officer of apparel & accessories, home, and hardlines. Both Gomez and Sando will report to the chief growth officer. Target has also announced the upcoming retirement of its chief legal and compliance officer, Don Liu. The company is currently searching for a replacement and expects to share an update later this year. Liu will transition to a strategic advisor role until 2025. These leadership changes aim to support Target’s continued growth and ensure efficient operations.
